Barcelona Entrepreneurship City

February 28, 2008

Finally the initiative “Barcelona Entrepreneurship City” is born. This is a community of Entrepreneurs based in Barcelona that have the common goal to make Barcelona the European Hub for Entrepreneurship. Members propose new ideas, in order to improve the infrastructure and services for Entrepreneurs in Barcelona.

The long term vision is to build a meta platform hosting and classifying all services relevant to entrepreneurs and the company creation process, plus a social networking functionality for the entrepreneurial community of Barcelona.

This Initiative will be moderated by Entrepreneurs, lead by Entrepreneurial Ambassadors and advised by the greatest role model Entrepreneurs of Barcelona.

This Group is about a common interest and not individual or political interests…! This initiative is backed by: EO Entrepreneurs’ Organization Barcelona, First Tuesday Barcelona, Barcelona Open Coffee Club, IESE, ESADE,…

You can also preview the Linqia Profile of this group… 😉

Vino Tinto with Morten Lund

February 27, 2008

During the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona I meet with Morten in his Hotel and we drank a nice bottle of Spanish red wine. We had a very pleasant and interesting conversation about entrepreneurial values and exchanged some stories about some entrepreneurs in the community with “wrong” business ethics. It is not very often that I come across fellow entrepreneurs that have such a strong value based approach to business like Morten Lund

Furthermore I was very impressed by his unique way of taking investment decisions. I brought along my business partner Maria Sipka (CEO of Linqia) and we explained Morten the business model and vision of Linqia. He understood the potential of the concept in less than 10 minutes.

In the end I also invited him to the first Venturepreneurs Summit which we will organise in the first half of this year.

Hello Blog World!

February 9, 2008

Welcome to my blog… I finally launched it! Something I had on my mind for years, but never found the time to actually doing it. 2003 my friend Florian Wilken, co-founder of, explained me the idea of blogging for the first time. I must admit that I did not quite understand the deeper sense behind blogs at that moment… now I slowly get the hang of it 😉

I dedicate this blog to Daniela Arens and thank her for all the patience she has with me (especially at 01:20h at night)!
